Carolina Beach Inshore Fishing Report 05/11/12
Come on down to the coast and enjoy great fishing and warm weather. Call and book your trip today!!!!!! 910-264-1807.The Redfish, trout, and flounder bite inshore has remained steady over the past few weeks. We have been getting inshore slams several times a week. A slam is when you catch redfish, flounder and trout on the same trip, it is quite an accomplishment. With the mild temps, the redfish are schooling on the flats in large numbers and also cruising the creeks. That means when you hook one the fight is on. Most of the fish have been within the slot limit, so that is a good thing. There are always a few small ones in the mix as well. We have been catching them on soft plastics on jig heads, Strink-King minnows, D.O.A paddle tails, and Gulp Alive shrimp and minnows. The reds are starting to look -up and that means the topwater and crankbait bite should kick off very soon. If you want to kick back and relax we will use mud minnows, shrimp, and mullet. We always have a great time on the water no matter your skill level. The flounder and trout are starting to show up on a regular basis. Lots of small trout with a few keepers. We are catching the trout on grubs and mirro-lures. The flounder have been biting minnows and jigs as well. Having fun and catching fish is a priority on every trip. You do not have to be an expert, beginners welcome. The fishing is here, where are you?
